Corona virus was first discovered in birds in the year of 1937. It was not until 1960's that scientists found the corona virus in human noses. Usually the corona virus is not dangerous and only causes inflammation in the nostrils, sinus, and upper throat. The corona virus gets its name from the latin word "corona" meaning "halo" or "crown." Only recently the World Health Organization (WHO) discovered this new strand of corona virus calling it Sars-Cov-2, which is the new type of corona virus that has caused this pandemic. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has officially named this pandemic COVID-19, which stands for Corona Virus Disease 2019.
